Football Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, but will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole away win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member advised me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
